These are They

By Todd Abraham ©May 2016

These are they that came out of great tribulation,
And washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Those who with patience and hope endured every trial and tribulation,
Giving everything for His name’s sake; even the great I am.
These are they who lived separate from the world,
Who laid down their lives for the gospel’s sake and the brethren too.
Whom the bible teaches us that the world was not worthy,
The saints of God tried by fire whose testimony resounds so true.
These are they who by faith endured every temptation,
And though for a season may have fallen and been bruised.
But by meekness returning to the Shepherd of their soul,
Knowing where their salvation rested; no not for a moment confused.
These are they who bore the contempt of the hypocritical masses,
Who through prayer and determination endured such contempt.
Knowing that the righteous Judge would plead their cause,
And that they would be victorious in the end as they had dreamt.
These are they who dared to stand on the truth of God’s Word,
Learning by fiery trial that indeed it could never fail.
Watching the enemy fall time after time by the sword of the Spirit,
Trusting in the Master of their soul always and forever to prevail.
These are they who stood in the face of imminent defeat,
Crossing the Red Sea on dry land, overcoming lions and a fiery furnace.
Rejoicing in the salvation of the Mighty God of Israel,
Singing His praise for their deliverance by the Holy Ghost their soul’s compass.
These are they that against all odds overcame this cruel world,
Vessels unto honor shewing forth His character as lively stones.
Bringing glory and honor to His holy name from faith to faith,
God clothing them with honor and praise until the day He brings them home.
These are they who were rejected, despised and persecuted,
Because they refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.
Sacrificing their lives that they might win some to the Lord,
Wise according to His word but counted as sheep led to slaughter.
These are they who stood valiantly for the truth no matter the cost,
To whom He gave power to become the sons of God and live forever.
These are they of whom the world was not worthy I say again,
To whom God declared they should not die; no not ever!
