Cry of a Christian Poet

My heart’s desire and prayer is,
That the words that I am inspired to write.
Will help a lost, bereaved soul,
Find their way into His marvelous light!
Or that these verses which to me are like songs,
Unto the Lord God of glory.
May bring strength to my fellow Christian,
As God writes their testimonial story.
That God may use my hands to pen,
An answer to a long sought prayer.
The eye of the beholder who is seeking such,
By His Spirit in them the witness will be there.
Because truly a song is nothing more than a poem set to music,
And I hope my words will sing a sweet melody.
In those words that wisdom you will find,
And not me but through them it’s Jesus you will see.
My name I care not if you ever remember,
My joy fulfilled in an act of unselfish valor.
Just let these words given to me by the Master,
Be the only thing to you that does matter.
As I know this gift that I have been given,
Is a gift of the Most High God befitting to enthrall.
I’m blessed to be a practical, putter forth of prose,
By His grace to help you endure through it all.
So let these verses that I am blessed to write,
Help build your faith and mend your broken heart.
Every word verifiable by His holy word of that you can be sure.
Our goal, after all, to be a yielded vessel for Him to do His part.
The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much,
Consider these words I write a prayer for your soul.
Because it’s not the power of prayer so much as it is,
Praying to the right One who can make you whole.
The words I compose, a symphony to your understanding I pray,
Echoing beautiful sounds of deliverance for whatever your need.
God never let me fail to use such a wonderful, awe inspiring talent,
For Your glory to help your everlasting, righteous seed.
