Glorious Day

In 1600, King James the First,
Commissioned a very important work.
It was to become known as the Holy Bible.
A bible for the English speaking people,
Who desired to know the truth of God’s Word,
And there was no detail whatsoever that was considered trifle.
49 scholars with the most excellent of education,
With a fire in their bones to do His Word justice,
To 4 renowned universities they did divide.
Bearing in their possession a strict set of rules,
They toiled for 7 years to bring this work to fruition,
And not one jot nor tittle did they let slide.
You see God works through men and through these men He did labor,
Oh what a glorious work they did conceive,
The everlasting gospel in the most prevalent language in the world.
The eyes of countless numbers of hungry souls enlightened,
The curtain of insidious lies swung wide open,
The truth, like a glorious white banner, finally unfurled.
Within 50 years of it’s inception and no surprise indeed,
This most accurate translation surpassed every other,
Did you know it’s the most proven by science, archaeology and historical evidence.
Many thousands upon thousands have been saved, healed and delivered because of it,
Of that fact no one can with any verity deny,
And to lovers of the truth it’s the armor of God for our defence.
Knowing that God is His Word like the bible teaches,
And that accuracy is of the utmost importance,
Because just one false word from the devil in the beginning caused man’s demise.
It’s the one faith in the one truth in the one accurate version,
That is salvation to our soul so glorious indeed,
If we’ll just look not with our natural but our understanding eyes.
Hence the great importance of this marvelous endeavor,
To God be the glory for inspiring such a text,
And to those who have paid with their lives that we might have it this day.
Indeed every soul has the right to believe what they will,
This poet’s prayer is that this rhyme will spark your faith,
To seek the truth for yourself and get in, as Jesus taught, this straight and narrow way.
