God’s house is not a building made with hands,
It’s the saints of God in whom His Spirit resides,
And what dear soul are you doing to help build it?
You may say “well I go to church faithfully”,
But so did the people who put Jesus on that cross,
A Christian in word but not deed is simply a hypocrite.
Jesus told us the fields were white to harvest,
He ordained those He called to go and bring forth fruit,
And a tree brings forth fruit after it’s own kind.
The fruit of a Christian is another Christian,
But unless we are heeding His call in the highways and byways,
Then quite simply we are out of our Christ like mind.
We must however be leery lest like the fig tree,
The Lord passes by and seeking fruit finds none,
And curses us that we from the root wither and die.
You see my friend trees can’t talk,
And God doesn’t accept excuses,
Remember the parable of the unprofitable servant and his futile reply.
Truly we could take a valuable lesson from the early church,
Who gave their all and yet lacked for nothing,
And how wondrous God blessed them with fruit abounding.
Thousands of souls added to the church,
Miracles innumerable bringing glory to God,
The victory over the devil ever resounding.
God’s not looking for religious tradition,
Nor unnecessary attention to jobs, homes, cars, children or friends,
But rather trees in His vineyard bearing fruit.
Those who with honest heart and sincere prayers,
Compelling the lost to come to Jesus,
Whose testimony would speak volumes even if they were mute.
So dear friend if these verses cut you deep,
And make you realize you’ve strayed from the straight and narrow,
By all means, don’t let pride well up and make you balk.
Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord,
Repent, do your first works over and find your place,
Because it’s not what you say that matters so much as how you walk the walk.
Love it!
Thank you!
