Warriors of God

By Todd Abraham ©2013

This is in remembrance of all the mighty,
Who trusted in God and died for His cause.
So that we could have this gospel of Jesus Christ to set us free.
Their blood that was shed in defence of His blood,
Of whom the world was not worthy as the scripture says,
Honored by God with everlasting life for eternity.

Those who stood with no man made weapons for defence,
But only with an unseen faith in the truth of Almighty God,
Against vicious and cruel threats of unspeakable rage.
Yet unwavering, trusting in the Lord to keep them through it,
Knowing for His glory they were brought to this moment,
Victorious no matter what assault the enemy did wage.

They suffered loss of life, family, property and more,
Spent years in prisons not fit for the worst,
To ensure this faith passed to the next generation.
Not counting their own life dear,
Never succumbing to the terror and fear,
Valiantly brave soldiers defending God’s nation.

They were sawn asunder, tortured and maimed,
Many were burned alive at the stake,
The grace of God keeping them through it all.
Ah my Lord thank you great God of heaven,
For those who were not afraid to die for Your glory,
Paying the ultimate price of freedom’s call.

The land of the free and home of the brave,
Is wherever the saints of God are,
Especially those who died to pass this message on.
Mighty men and women standing against the forces of hell,
Making the ultimate sacrifice,
Whose testimony resounds like a beautiful song.

Precious in the sight of the Lord,
Is the death of His saints,
And to those who love Him even more so.
We pay tribute and honor to those,
Our beloved brethren in Him who gave everything,
Warriors of God our thanks to you we bestow!
