To God be the glory,
For the life of our days,
Because without Him, we would not even exist.
We wouldn’t have the chance to be saved,
Or the joys that life offers us,
The benefits of His grace are far too many to list.
The air we breathe or the heart that pumps our blood,
The eyes with which we behold the beauty of His creation,
Or the ears that capture the many unique sounds around us.
Or the mind that controls all of these faculties,
And gives us the means to comprehend all this wonder,
But most importantly, the mind of Christ and His righteousness.
And let’s not forget the many wonderful people God puts in our lives,
The love they show us and timely words in perfect time,
Guiding us on the path He has laid out for us for His glory.
Realizing that God didn’t have to do any of it,
Solely by His grace which is undeserved favor,
Are we here to live out this beautiful life story.
The green grass, the whispering wind, the beautiful sunrise,
Painting a breathtaking canvas across the sky,
Your children looking at you with the words “I love you”.
The power of God working in your life by faith,
So many things He does only you can see and others,
Filling your soul with praise to Him as He proves His Word so true.
The birds singing, the rain on an old tin roof,
A song that touches you to the very depth of your soul,
An Almighty God Who answers your prayers in the wee hours of the night.
The roaring of a thunderous train down the track,
Or a fighter jet at supersonic speed coursing through the air,
The understanding of the everlasting word of God, the true Light.
Even the pain that reminds us we haven’t yet been perfected,
And the hope which brings us through the aforementioned trial,
Let us give thanks every day to our God above as trees He’s planted.
Realizing if He had not of wanted a family of His own,
And by His grace and the blood of Jesus overlooked all of our faults,
We would never have been able to take all these things for granted.
